Brian Ramsey joined the Ouachita Baptist University athletics department staff in September of 2021. In the four years since, he has covered a combined nine conference championship teams and 10 teams that have qualified for NCAA tournament competition.
Ramsey and his staff are in charge the publicity and promotion efforts for all 18 of Ouachita's NCAA Division II teams, which include more than 500 student-athletes. In addition to his regular duties, Ramsey also currently serves on the NCAA Division II Baseball Central Region Advisory Committee and is a regional voter for the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association. He has also been involved with the Great American Conference Awards Committee during his time at Ouachita and served as the tournament director for the 2024 GAC Women's Soccer Championship held in Arkadelphia.
The Harrison, Arkansas native started his career in collegiate athletics as a student assistant in the sports information office at Arkansas Tech University in the mid 2000s. He had a brief stint across the street at Henderson State University in 2007 as a graduate assistant before becoming the youngest sports information director in the nation at the time when he was hired at the University of Arkansas at Monticello in December of 2007.
At UAM, Ramsey was the SID from 2007-11 before joining the Great American Conference staff for its inaugural season of 2011-12 as the league's assistant commissioner for communications. He returned to UAM in 2012 as assistant athletic director for communications, and was later promoted to associate athletic director for operations.
Ramsey stepped away from athletics in 2017, working in radio broadcasting for two years and then working full time in ministry as the director of ministry support at First Baptist Church in Monticello for two years before coming to Ouachita.
He and his wife, Lori, have two sons, Cordae and Joe Mark. Brian is a 2007 graduate of Arkansas Tech. Lori is back at home with two degrees from Ouachita.
