LOUISVILLE, Kent.- The Ouachita Men's Tennis team is done with finals week and now has another important event to look forward to. The Tigers will be competing in the NCAA Championships beginning on May 16 and will look to make a run for the National Championship. The Tigers secured a spot in the Round of 16 with their 5-3 match victory over St. Edwards University on April 30.
The Tigers will face off against the Big Blues of Bluefield State in the Round of 16. Bluefield is a Division II institution that is located in Bluefield, West Virginia. The Big Blues head into the match with a 20-4 record, including a 3-0 record in the West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WVIAC) Tournament, thrusting them into their Round of 16 match with the Tigers.
Ouachita heads into the match with an overall record of 14-6, including a 2-0 record in the Great American Conference Tournament and a GAC Championship, as well as their Regional match victory over St. Edwards. The Tigers enter the match with a streak of six straight victories.
The Tigers will face off against the Big Blues at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the Top Gun Tennis Academy in Louisville, Kentucky.
