RUSSELLVILLE, Ark.- Behind the coaching of newly hired
Jeremy Haworth, the Ouachita Tigers continue to prepare for their upcoming season of play and the inaugural season of play in the Great American Conference. The Tigers have been informed that they were chosen to finish sixth out of the nine teams in the conference in the GAC Pre-Season Poll this morning, following their 21-26 finish in 2011.
Ouachita received three fifth place votes, two sixth place votes and three seventh place votes in the poll.
Southern Arkansas was the projected first place finisher, receiving seven of the nine first place votes. Harding was chosen second, receiving the other two first place votes. Southeastern Oklahoma and Arkansas Tech were picked to finish third and fourth respectively. Southwestern Oklahoma and Ouachita followed closesly in fifth and sixth, while Arkansas-Monticello, Henderson State and East Central were picked seventh, eighth and ninth respectively.
Polls are voted on by each team's head coach, although they are not allowed to vote for their own team.
