RUSSELLVILLE, AR- After closing up the season with a win and heading to the Great American Conference tournament, the Lady Tigers received some more great news. The GAC released the first All-GAC Women's Soccer team and Ouachita placed six among the First team and Second team, as well as receiving the Goalkeeper of the Year award.
Ouachita's first team selections include senior forward
Beth Wendl, who led the Lady Tigers in scoring this season, junior midfielder
Lauren Hatch, who helped lead the team to their 3-3 conference record with top notch leadership, junior defender
Carrie Lieblong, who helped the Lady Tigers limit opponents shot attempts this season, and senior goalkeeper
Whitley Hoppe, who was nothing short of spectacular in the net this season.
Garnering All-GSC Second Team honors were senior midfielder
Miranda Lytle, who provided a burst of energy when on the field for Ouachita this season, as well as junior defender
Mary Whisenhunt, who always seemed to be creating problems for opposing offenses.
Hoppe was named Goalkeeper of the Year for the GAC after pitching five shut outs this season and finishing with a .78 goals against average.
East Central received eight placements among the All-GAC teams, while Southwestern Oklahoma state received seven, Ouachita received six and Harding received four.
