Damon Francis enters his first full season as an assistant coach on the Ouachita Baptist basketball team. The past two season, Francis was a graduate assistant.

Francis has stayed in the program after playing two years for the Tigers.  The Springboro, Ohio, native came to Ouachita from Cincinnati State College in Cincinnati, Ohio.

As a member of the Tiger coaching staff, Francis assists the Tigers in a variety of areas, including on-floor teaching, recruiting, film exchange and coaching the junior varsity squad.

Francis started 25 games at Ouachita as a junior in 2003-04 and played in all 28, averaging over 30 minutes per game. He was second on the team in assists with 104.

In his senior season, Francis added a spark off the bench and again finished second in assists with 85.

Francis played at Springboro High School, and he still holds the Ohio state high school record for most free throws in a game with 26.  He played in the Ohio/Kentucky All-Star game and was a nominee for the McDonald’s All-American Game.

Francis led Cincinnati State to two conference championships, and he directed the team with five assists per game.
