J.R. Eldridge is in his sixth season as a member of the Tiger coaching staff, his fourth as a full-time assistant.

Eldridge is coaching inside linebackers for the sixth consecutive year and is also the Strength and Conditioning coordinator.  Since becoming the Strength and Conditioning coordinator, Eldridge has researched cutting edge techniques and methods to produce results for the football players of Ouachita Baptist University in the weight room and on the field.  He received his Master of Exercise Science, which focused on performance enhancement and injury rehabilitation in December of 2006. 

Additionally he is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist by the National Strength and Conditioning Association and a Performance Enhancement Specialist certified by the National Academy of Sports Medicine.  Eldridge is determined to run the most efficient strength and conditioning program not only in the Gulf South Conference, but in Division II football. 

Eldridge graduated from Ouachita in 2001 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English with business administration and speech communication minors.

A native of Fayetteville, Ark., Eldridge graduated from Fayetteville High School in 1996, where he was an inside linebacker and fullback for the Purple Dogs.

After playing inside linebacker at Henderson State University for two years, Eldridge transferred to Ouachita, where he started at inside linebacker his junior and senior years and was a team captain in 2001. During his two year playing stint at Ouachita Baptist University, his junior season he was the third leading tackler and his senior season was the second leading tackler behind T.J. Bingham who has played in the NFL and NFL Europe.  Additionally, Eldridge received the Antwoyne Edwards Leadership award in 2001 and also attained Academic All Gulf South Conference in his senior year.   

Eldridge completed his Master of Liberal Arts degree from HSU in 2004. In the summer of 2004, he married his wife Audrey, and his wife gave birth to their baby boy John Rolfe Eldridge V “Jack” on September 29th, 2007.
